North Lewisham Community Forum
The North Lewisham Community Forum is a space for the community and PCN to come together. We have an open invitation to community organisations and community residents to join. The forum was developed with feedback from the community. We heard that they wanted to have this space to ensure we are focussing on what is important to the community and ‘doing with, not to’ when looking at addressing Health Inequalities.
There have been 2 forums held so far in October and December 2021. Both events were hybrid in-person and on zoom to ensure access for all. The sessions are fun, interactive and welcoming to all with refreshments provided. A visual minutes artist has allowed a creative way to record what we talked and agreed about. The next forum date is available via the events calendar.
North Lewisham Community Forum December 2021
The December meeting was hosted by the Lewisham Mayoresses at the Evelyn Community Centre. We discussed the priorities for the PCN, our strategic vision statement was agreed and we talked about the impact of housing on health. Following this meeting, a working group on housing has been set up and the strategic vision statement published. Thanks to everyone who joined us.

North Lewisham Community Forum October 2021
The first Community Forum was held at the Moonshot Centre, Deptford and was attended by over 30 people (in-person and zoom). The forum opened with food and an interactive Caribbean dance by Januka as part of the celebration of Black History Month. We then had a chance as a group to move around tables exploring key themes impacting health inequalities including:
- GP Access
- Long Term Conditions
- Poverty
- Urban Environment
- Mental Health
We then prioritised improving GP Access and Poverty for the PCN Health inequalities Team to start work on. Two working groups have been set up about these two issues and are meeting to work together on these. If interested to join in, please get in touch.
